Scratch the Waiting Game, Act instead.

I admire those who aspire to achieve greater things in life, but I condemn those who simply just wait for something stupendous to happen to them. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t all of us have big dreams of success waiting to be fulfilled? Let’s say most of us if not all, have big dreams, but in reality only a fraction of us act upon it.

Many may disagree with me but I do not believe in fate; I believe in making your own destiny. If we truly want something, we’d do anything and everything to make ends meet with the means we have. Excuses and excuses will always be present in the mind of someone lacking drive and passion. In the mind of a person who acts upon his vision, persistence and determination will always be present.

It’s not easy walking the talk, but here are some of the things I learned that inspired me into reaching my ambitions.

  1. Make time to read every day.
I always make sure to read stories before I go to bed. It enhances and cultivates your ideas. Reading inspirational stories of persons has given me motivation and incentive.
  2. Start the day right by waking up early.
One of the secrets to success is making time, the best way to do so is to maximize your day. Wake up early and you’ll be able to accomplish more tasks in the day. Of course, going to bed early will definitely make waking up early easier.
  3. Avoid procrastination and FOCUS.
Everyone procrastinates once in a while but it’s a doing that should be avoided at ALL times. Even I put off tasks to do at the moment and I move them to accomplish later in the day. This is wrong but we can’t help it. That’s why I have a list of things to do and I don’t end my day without completing each and every item.
  4. Don’t burn yourself out.
Retiring to bed at night feeling drained isn’t a great feeling. Never make it a goal to burn yourself out and pass out on the bed, instead go to sleep feeling contented and fulfilled about how your day went. It’s satisfying to still have energy at the end of the day to catch up on family and friends.
  5. Never lose track of your vision.
There will always be obstacles that will hinder you from reaching your destination; it’s normal and it’s something everyone will go through. Just jump over the hurdles and remind yourself that all the struggles you’re going through will be worth it at the end. There will never be success without sacrifice. It’s important to have the right positive mindset, because; trust me, it makes all the challenges you experience easier. There can always be prosperity within adversity if you learn how to view matters in a different light.
